In a world of its own, Auchengruith Cottage is a haven of peace and tranquility. Traditionally decorated to a high standard, it enjoys private, enviable views over the Mennock Pass and Lowther Hills, yet is just under 3 miles to the town of Sanquhar with all its amenities.

2.5 miles from Sanquhar, and 10 miles from Thornhill. Ample parking provided.

The Cottage

Originally built to house farm hands, Auchengruith Cottage has been carefully and sympathetically renovated to offer comfort and privacy to our discerning guests.

Living Room

Comfortably furnished, the living room is the perfect place to relax after a day exploring. With a view over the Mennock Pass you can enjoy the changing colours as day turns to night. A 43" smart TV, Wifi and for those quiet evenings, snooze to the ticking of the antique, locally made Grandfather clock.

Dining Room

Richly decorated in rectory red with velvet curtains, this warm and welcoming dining room offers a table that sits four with a full dinner service. An antique sideboard houses vintage tea sets to enable you to enjoy a classic afternoon cream tea. A bookcase with Robert Burns and local history books are provided for your enjoyment.

Kitchen

A modern fully functional kitchen with an electric range cooker, microwave oven, fridge, freezer, kettle and toaster. All cutlery, crockery and cookware provided. A small utility room houses a washing machine and a clothes drying rack. A sink over looks the rear garden and a door leads to the patio and woodland beyond.

Master Bedroom

A beautiful room, warm, cosy and traditionally furnished with antique wardrobe and dressing table and a kingsize brass bed.From here you have a wonderful view of the surrounding hills.

On the landing between the bedrooms is a fabulous vintage pink shower room with toilet, basin and shower. A supply of Egyptian cotton towels are provided.

Twin Bedroom

Decorated to a similar theme as the Master Bedroom, this room has two brass beds and comparable antique furniture. The views are just as spectacular!
